Postdoctoral Fellow — Rare-Earth Nanomaterials & Biomineralisation

• PhD in Materials Science, Chemistry, Physics, Synthetic Biology, or a related field.
• Experience in one or more of the following nanomaterial characterisation techniques: TEM/STEM-EDS, SEM, AFM, XRD, FTIR/Raman Spectroscopy, UV-Vis/Fluorescence Spectroscopy, ICP-MS/OES Analysis.
• Experience with protein engineering or characterisation is favourable but not required.
• Strong publication record relative to opportunity.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively across disciplines.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

• Conduct research using protein nanostructures as templates for rare-earth element biomineralisation.
• Synthesis and characterisation of nanoparticles using advanced techniques.
• Contribute to publications, conferences, and collaborative research with international partners.
• Assist in supervising students and day-to-day lab operations.
• Maintain rigorous lab records and ensure compliance with health & safety and regulatory guidelines.
• Align with UNSW Values in Action and Code of Conduct.
